The culture of the 1970s invited an increase in various outdoor activities. More people were camping, hiking and road tripping. Appropriately, Mattel released the Barbie Star Traveler Motorhome during this cultural peak in 1976. The motorhome was significantly larger compared to most Barbie vehicles. It’s design was based on the GMC Eleganza motorhome which was popular in the 1970s. You can find GMC logo decals on both the front and back of the vehicle. The interior included a kitchen, living space, and of course, a vanity. Along with the vehicle there was a deck that could be removed from the roof, along with plenty of accessories like a Barbeque, table wear, and a variety of beauty items.
